UN concerned over political stalemate in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nov 19 (PTI) As the political deadlock continues in Nepal, a top UN official today said that the peace process has reached a complex turning point, appealing all the parties to cooperate to meet its logical end.

Karen Landgren, UN chief’s representative to the country and also the chief of the UN Mission here, met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal today to discuss the current stalemate.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, she asked the government and the political parties to move ahead by forging cooperation and collaboration in order to complete the peace process.

They also discussed the issue of discharging the disqualified Maoist combatants from the UN monitored cantonments and to integrate and rehabilitate the Maoist combatants.
